We are very proud to announce that our incredible partnership with Specsavers Ireland has won The Corporate Charity Partnership of the Year Award at the Charities Institute Ireland “Charity Excellence Awards 2024”.
With the help of Specsavers, HOPE established a Blindness Eradication Programme in Kolkata across street-connected and slum-dwelling communities and schools through community based camps and special eye clinics in our HOPE Hospital.
Here is an overview of the number of lives directly affected by the Programme including this year so far:
- Nearly 50,000 people were seen at an eye camp or clinic
- Over 16,500 medicines have been dispensed
- Nearly 27,500 people who needed glasses now have them
- 2,180 people have had life-changing eye surgery
